How to get a flat stomach in a short period of time

Certainly three slices of pie won't do your waistline a favor, but broccoli won't. Here's why: Some foods are known to disrupt your metabolism, while increasing puffiness and making you appear heavier than you actually are, says Stephanie Middleberg, R. D., of Stephanie Middleberg Nutrition in New York City. Here are four dishes to watch out for:
Cruciferous vegetables

Broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and white cabbage are the most popular vegetables this season that are high in fiber. Enjoy a small portion, but stop after that, especially if you're trying to fit into a tiny party dress later.
Salty foods

Some chips, a portion of canned soup, assorted meat ... if you took it all out of a bag or box, then, most likely, it will contain salt, which will retain water in the body and you will look like a puffer fish. Stay away from them for as long as possible to avoid making bloating worse.
Soda

Do bubbles make soda so refreshing? When you swallow them, you basically swallow the air that passes through your stomach and you gain weight especially on your thighs. Drink water to avoid that pregnant tummy.
Artificial sweeteners and dietary products

Generally speaking, your body rejects fake foods, and this, in particular, can lead to bloating and swelling. Problematic products and ingredients are sugar-free chewing gum, sucralose, aspartame, frozen yogurt, and any product that has a lot of unrecognizable ingredients. Treat yourself to real foods – they taste better, too, and as long as you consume them in moderation (and as part of a healthy diet), they shouldn't affect your waistline.
