How to cheat laziness and go to workout

7 simple rules

Anyone who has been playing sports for more than a week has experienced a situation where going to the gym becomes a real struggle with themselves. Usually, difficulties begin a month after the start of sports life, when the enthusiasm becomes less. As a result, after a hard day's work, we easily convince ourselves that we shouldn't go to the gym today. You can, of course, analyze for a long time the psychological causes and unconscious childhood injuries that are behind this. But we are sure that this is just laziness, which is not only the engine of progress, but also an insurmountable obstacle on the way to sports. And here are some tips that will help you overcome yourself and still get to the club.

Allow yourself a ten-minute break

Sorry for the banality, but the problem may be that you are really tired. A crazy work schedule, several business meetings in different parts of the city, ten reports and incessant calls from customers. The only thing you can want after such an interesting day is to be able to do nothing for five years. No sports are out of the question. Do not rush to cut from the shoulder! Move away from the monitor. Try not to do anything or think about anything. If possible, lie down. You don't owe anyone anything, no one is chasing you. Give yourself 10-15 minutes to rest. That is how much time will be enough for the body to recover, gain strength, and tune in to sports. Now you can go to the gym!

The main thing is the mood!

The sooner you get used to the idea that you can't get out of an evening workout, the better. This is called a mindset. It is advisable to start setting yourself up in the morning. Think about the exercises that you would like to do. Imagine how envious everyone is of your athletic figure. Think about the pace, the tension, the pleasant fatigue after a workout, feel it in every muscle. Repeat these exercises several times a day. The need for physical activity should be felt on a bodily level. Only in this case, the question is " should I go to training or not?" it will lose its relevance.

Be gentle with yourself

Still, you don't want to go to the training session. The thought of exercise machines, an overly energetic fitness trainer, and the need to do your best makes you want to cry. Allow yourself a minimum program. Instead of a fast pace, find a comfortable pace for your condition, instead of three kilometers of the pool, swim one. With this goal setting, going to the gym will not seem like something that requires extra effort. And then you're walking out of the locker room. You're already swimming a kilometer. Do you feel ready to swim another one? Yes, easily! Do not deny yourself anything!

Tomorrow will be exactly the same

The sooner you understand this, the better. There is no" tomorrow". Tomorrow will be the same boss, the same customers, the same fatigue. And next Monday, and at the beginning of next month, too. The realization of this fact makes you sad, but who said it would be easy? Too lazy to go to the gym today means too lazy to go to the gym tomorrow.

Work in pairs

Noticing a speck in the eye of "your brother" is much easier than noticing a log in your own eye, isn't it? And to catch another in the desire to miss the sacred day of sports is even more pleasant. Find yourself a like-minded person with whom you will go to the gym together. Arrange something like a contest with them: those who miss more training sessions in a month are treated to oysters (this is not pathos, it's more effective!). You can also agree on mutual control - call each other every three hours and remind each other that you have a trip to the gym planned today.

Flexible schedule

Still, I'm a mood person, so strict time schedules frustrate me, " you might argue. Not a problem! Especially for you, clubs have come up with a system of visits with a flexible schedule - you can come at any time when you want. Did you want to go to the gym during your lunch break? You are welcome! At five o'clock in the morning? Not a problem at all! The main thing is that hikes should be really regular and build up in a more or less effective system.

Bribery

Promise yourself a small reward for going to the gym. Anything. Do you like sweets? Promise yourself that right after the gym, you will allow yourself to eat tiramisu and wash it down with a large cup of cocoa. Don't like cocoa? No problem, then a big coke. Or better yet, two. Does it feel like bargaining with yourself? Of course! But in a fierce battle with your own laziness, all methods are good. The trick is that after your workout, you'll be a completely different person who probably won't want to consume that much sugar.
